field day

It was a warm autumn day, and a great time to have some fun with my son in a dry, freshly harvested bean field. He rode the Z50R, and I took the TC90. A bean field is about as close to desert riding as we get in Indiana. Wide open and fairly smooth, but you have to watch out for the occasional large rock, and mini sink holes from breaks in the field tile.

The TC90 is a sweet running, fun bike.

I got the '75 XS650 enduro out later on. The 21" front wheel does work much better off road than the fat 19" on the '79 XS650 enduro. Where the 19" wants to push, the 21" turns.

2016 Jungle Park Reunion part 6

To cap off an already great day late in the afternoon many of the race cars and hot rods took to the track for some easy laps.

They might have been doing parade laps, but an old race car on an old race track, you gotta open'er up just a little bit.

It was a super fun day. I also got to talk with Shop Teacher Bob, who I'd met before at the Frankfort 1/2 mile flat track races.

One thing I bought in the vendor area was the book The Ghosts of Jungle Park by Tom W Williams.

It is over 300 pages packed with the history, stories and incredible photos from the track. Jungle Park is an amazing place, and if you are a fan of any type of racing I'd highly recommend the book.
