During the MotoGP weekend in Indy the place to be Saturday night was Mid-America Speedway for some dirt short track. The race night started with a moment of silence for Jethro Halbert and a prayer for his family, so I'll start by mentioning the AMA Pro Flat Track Rookie Class of '79. The purpose is to raise funds to help injured flat track riders and their families. Charlie Roberts was at the track promoting the organization and to talk about the Jethro Halbert Memorial Fund which includes a college fund for his son Caleb. You can make a donation or they have T-shirts, autographed items, banners and other items for sale or auction, so have a look at the website. 100% of the proceeds go to aid injured riders.
There were some great Yamahas at the track.
