SR500 stuff

I've been getting the SR500 tank ready to paint, starting with chemically stripping the original paint. I'd never tried the Rust-Oleum aerosol aircraft stripper, but it is now my favorite. It took the paint off quickly, and left much less of a mess than brush-on types I've used before. In the picture is the tank after using the stripper and a plastic scraper, and then a wipe-down with paper towels. Much less left over residue than the brush-on types.

I had planned on using some reproduction Yamaha enduro tank decals, but found these while looking on ebay. I think they will look really neat. I still haven't decided on paint color.

I couldn't see it any color except black. I still need to paint the tank, which won't be black.

it looks like it could fly

I wet sanded the old primer down to the gel coat, bodyworked it, and got a coat of primer on the Knight seat. Such a great shape.

Bunker Hill

I took my son to Bunker Hill Dragstrip for the annual Moville Ground Shakers Father's Day motorcycle race. Great track, people, and bikes!
